Man succumbs after crash

A 30-year-old Woodside man died in a hospital on Thursday after battling injuries suffered when he was ejected from a vehicle on Skyline Drive, the Santa Clara medical examiner was reporting tonight.

A vehicle driven by Robert Leon Wagner apparently hit an embankment on Skyline Drive near Skeggs Point around 5:33 a.m. on Tuesday, according to an investigator with the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Wagner was ejected through the windshield and was discovered on the roadside, the investigator said.

Wagner was airlifted to Stanford Medical Center and survived until being pronounced dead on Thursday, the investigator said.

No other information was immediately available.
