Search Engine Marketing: How Search Engines Rank Web Pages

Having a highly ranked website in search engine results is a great way to increase your site’s exposure. However, most search engines use a complicated process to index and rank the web pages that the search engine spiders find when they are scanning the web.

One way to better the chances of a search engine spider assigning your site to a higher ranking is to diversity – use a variety of different search engine marketing methods and different percentages of search engine optimization.

By using a large amount of keywords and phrases pertaining to your site’s services, you also improve your ability to move-up on the search rankings. Search engine spiders commonly assign a weight or rank to the site based on how many times that word or key phrase appears within the web page.
